Ant Life Cycle
The life cycle of an ant follows a complete metamorphosis process, consisting of four distinct stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. Here’s an overview of the ant life cycle:
1. Egg Stage
Fertilized Eggs: Queen ants lay eggs in a designated nesting site. Fertilized eggs develop into females (workers, queens), while unfertilized eggs develop into males.
2. Larva Stage
After hatching, larvae emerge. These are worm-like, legless, and depend entirely on adult ants for care.
3. Pupa Stage
Once the larva is fully grown, it spins a silken cocoon around itself (in some species) or transitions to a pupal stage without a cocoon.
4. Adult Stage
Upon emerging from the pupa, the ant enters its adult form. Its role in the colony is determined by its caste
